About UsWashington’s Voice for Quality EducationPartnership for Learning is an independent, statewide nonprofit organization that communicates about Washington State’s school improvement efforts and the need to better prepare ALL of our high school graduates for the demands of today’s global society.
In 1993, the Washington State Legislature passed the state’s landmark education reform bill. Realizing these monumental efforts to raise expectations for all students would require a much higher level of community support and engagement in order to be successful, then- Lt. Gov. Joel Pritchard and former Boeing Company Chairman and CEO Frank Shrontz created Partnership for Learning in 1994.
As a trusted source of information about Washington’s school improvement efforts, Partnership for Learning makes complex issues accessible.
CommunicatorFrom mailings to schools and districts to e-newsletters and our Hall Monitor blog, the Partnership provides policymakers, community leaders, parents, teachers and students with practical information and tools.
Coalition BuilderAn effective education system takes committed educators, community leaders, policymakers and families. Through various initiatives like the College & Work Ready Agenda, the Partnership helps to connect these groups to yield positive results for students.
ConvenerThe Partnership mobilizes community leaders and champions student success. Through briefings and speaking engagements around the state and by hosting parent and community events to discuss education issues, we identify challenges and design innovative solutions. |
