THROWBACK: Promoting the state's new exam, the WASL
How times have changed ... or not!
Back in the late 1990s, Partnership for Learning teamed with the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSP)) to build awareness of the state's new exam, the Washington Assessment of Student Learning (WASL). It was a pretty creative project as we placed fourth-grade test questions on tray liners an area McDonalds. It's entertaining to watch parents and patrons struggle to answer the test questions.
And fast forward to to 2014, the Partnership once again is teaming with OSPI to build awareness and understanding for Common Core State Standards and the new Smarter Balanced tests with our Real Learning for Real Life campaign. Visit www.ReadyWA.org for more information.
